RIIZE Unveils a Softer Side With New Single “Insomnia”

RIIZE has released their new single “Insomnia” via SM Entertainment and RCA Records.

Marking RIIZE’s first venture into acoustic pop, “Insomnia” showcases a softer, more refined side of the group, shifting the spotlight from their signature high-energy performances to the six members’ distinct vocals. Built around gentle acoustic guitar melodies, the track blends a wistful, dreamlike atmosphere with subtle yet emotionally expressive vocals. The lyrics capture the complex emotions of sleepless nights, when memories and feelings of longing grow more vivid as the night deepens.

“Insomnia” brings together Grammy-winning production team The Stereotypes, best known for their work on Bruno Mars’ hits “That’s What I Like” and “Finesse,” and acclaimed songwriter-producer August Rigo, who previously collaborated with RIIZE on “9 Days.” The song’s lyrics were written by renowned Korean lyricist Eana Kim.

The accompanying music video brings the song’s emotional depth to life through cinematic visuals. Exploring themes of longing, loss, and the lingering emotions of something once cherished, the video blurs the boundaries between dreams, reality, and imagination, capturing the surreal and heightened emotions of a sleepless night. Through atmospheric visuals and cinematic direction, the members portray a range of complex emotions, bringing the song’s wistful, melancholic mood to life.

Ahead of the release, RIIZE launched the “INSOMNIA SHEEP GAME” on their official website, riizeofficial.com. Featuring playful pixel-art graphics, the game attracted approximately 70,000 players within its first hour, highlighting the anticipation surrounding the new single.

To celebrate the release, RIIZE is also hosting “RIIZE into INSOMNIA,” a four-day fan event at SPACE S50 in Seoul’s Seongsu district from October 26 to 29. The event kicks off with live performances and talk sessions on opening day, followed by exhibitions and interactive experiences inspired by the new single.

“Insomnia” follows RIIZE’s second mini album II, released in June, which became the group’s fourth million-selling album, and serves as a prologue to RIIZE’s second full-length album, currently planned for spring 2027. After heating up the summer with its title track “Do your dance,” RIIZE now explores a softer, more delicate sound with “Insomnia,” showcasing another dimension of their signature Emotional Pop.

About RIIZE

Their name combines “Rise” and “Realize,” reflecting their journey of growing together and turning dreams into reality. Their signature “Emotional Pop” transcends genre boundaries, drawing on everyday experiences and emotions to connect with listeners worldwide.

Even before their debut, RIIZE made headlines by reaching 1 million Instagram followers in just four days, setting a K-pop group record at the time. Their 2023 debut single “Get A Guitar” became a million-seller within its first week, while the group quickly emerged as one of K-pop’s standout new acts, achieving chart and streaming milestones among their peers. Since then, RIIZE has maintained their momentum with their first mini album RIIZING (2024), first full-length album ODYSSEY (2025), and second mini album II (2026), which marked their fourth million-selling release. The title track of II, “Do your dance,” also entered Mediabase’s Top 40 Radio Airplay Chart, marking RIIZE’s first appearance on the U.S. mainstream pop radio chart.

RIIZE has also proven themselves as a powerful live act, with performance at the heart of their appeal. Following their 2024 fan-con tour, RIIZING DAY, which spanned 19 regions, their first world tour, RIIZING LOUD, ran from 2025 to 2026, drawing 420,000 attendees across 21 regions and including landmark performances at Tokyo Dome.
