Marking EL CAPITXN's first release as a lead artist, “Breaking Through” arrives following early previews on his [WHO KILLED EL?] world tour, where the track quickly generated anticipation among global audiences. Built around the emotional rupture of pushing past self-imposed boundaries, the song traces a progression through fear and doubt toward connection, capturing the moment when a closed inner world begins to fracture and feeling is finally set free.
The single features TOMORROW X TOGETHER’s Taehyun and Jeremy Zucker, whose voices carry the track’s central narrative: the return of “EL,” a character who has lost his own voice and is reborn through others. Taehyun’s precise, emotive delivery and Jeremy Zucker’s warm, understated tone layer seamlessly over EL CAPITXN’s atmospheric production, heightening the song’s sense of tension and release.
The release also marks the beginning of a new global chapter for EL CAPITXN, who has entered a strategic partnership with EMPIRE through his production company Vendors. The collaboration will support worldwide distribution, marketing, and cross-border creative projects as he expands his presence as an artist.
Before stepping into the spotlight, EL CAPITXN established himself as one of the architects behind modern K-pop, contributing to major releases for BTS, Agust D, and IU, with credits spanning billions of streams and multiple Billboard-charting records. With “Breaking Through,” he shifts from behind-the-scenes architect to front-facing storyteller, signalling a broader artistic evolution rooted in narrative, identity, and emotional world-building.
The official music video and lyric video for “Breaking Through” are available now on his official YouTube channel and VEVO, with additional behind-the-scenes content set to roll out in the coming weeks.
