XG’s JURIN ASAYA Makes her Solo Debut With new Single, “PS118 (Feat. Rapsody)”

JURIN ASAYA, leader of trailblazing girl group XG officially makes her solo debut today with the release of “PS118 (feat. Rapsody).”

“PS118 (feat. Rapsody)” reflects JURIN ASAYA’s artistic evolution, capturing her sense of identity as she navigates a boundless universe of her own making. The track delivers sharp, precise lyricism layered over hard-hitting hip-hop production, symbolising her journey toward self-definition, one that remains steadfast and unswayed by outside perspectives.

The single features Rapsody, the Grammy Award-winning rapper from North Carolina known for her lyrical realism and mastery rooted in old-school hip-hop. The pairing highlights the strength of both artists, merging their distinct voices into a collaboration that resonates across genres and cultures.

The music video for “PS118 (feat. Rapsody)” follows JURIN ASAYA as she steps into her solo identity against a stark, late-night city backdrop. Moving through empty streets, JURIN delivers her verses with a focused, unshaken presence. Rapsody appears throughout the visual with equal force, her performance cutting in as the two exchange bars and briefly cross paths. Shot with a stripped-back, grounded aesthetic, the video highlights a different side of JURIN: natural, understated, and assured. The final moment, lit by the glow of a UFO over the city, signals a shift toward the next chapter in her artistic journey.

“I was so impressed with her lyrical dexterity and performance,” says Rapsody. “Especially for English not being her first language, she soared! The bars were immaculate and garner respect. Jurin walked the walk of a true emcee on that record and it was a joy to share the mic with her. The fans can look forward to real raps, wordplay, and bars. No fluff, all force of the Jedi. Enjoy!”

“I’m truly excited to release my first solo single, ‘PS118,’” says JURIN ASAYA. “For me, it’s a song about exploring and expanding my own universe. Through this project, Rapsody and I deeply resonated with each other’s journeys of exploration. It felt as if we were flying through space together, and it was pure fun! I hope listeners can feel that voyage through the words and flow of the song.”

As the first-ever solo release by an XG member, and the group’s first official featuring collaboration, “PS118 (feat. Rapsody)” opens a new chapter for XGALX’s creative universe while preserving the core of X-POP. It introduces a rawer, more grounded hip-hop expression from JURIN ASAYA without losing the unique identity that defines XG’s global presence.

The release follows a landmark year for XG, who recently performed at Coachella 2025 as the only Japanese act on the line-up, closing the Sahara Stage to widespread acclaim. The group also announced their first full-length album, THE CORE - 核, set for release on January 23, 2026, and their upcoming second world tour, 'XG WORLD TOUR: THE CORE,' kicking off in February 2026.
