P1Harmony Are Heroes With Hyperpop-Charged ‘BLOW UP’

P1Harmony return today with BLOW UP: the K-pop crossover sensation’s 10th mini album that sends the group’s long-running hero saga out with a bang.
P1Harmony’s new title track single, “BLOW UP,” dives headfirst into hyperpop, drawing on the original sound aesthetics of the PC Music scene. Glitchy synthesizers and hyped percussion collide into an explosive, freewheeling sound that gives the song a fresh sense of freedom. Lyrically, the track captures the thrill of breaking through limits and moving forward together, with the six members, Keeho, Theo, Jiung, Intak, Soul and Jongseob casting themselves as the spark that sets everything off and rewriting the rules on their own terms. Intak and Jongseob both co-wrote “BLOW UP,” which speaks to messages of taking full advantage of the moment, and the group sings, “I’m so blessed, going up going up... / Do what I want, give a what...”
The accompanying “BLOW UP” music video finds P1Harmony in full hero form, living their best lives and fully sharing the superhuman abilities first introduced through the group’s debut science-fiction film, ‘P1H: The Beginning of a New World,’ which earned recognition from The New York Times upon release. Longtime fans will also catch nods to the members’ powers from the group’s debut film: Keeho’s ability to manipulate space and time, Theo’s accuracy as a marksman, Jiung's telekinesis, Intak’s cell regeneration power, Soul's universal communication abilities and Jongseob's omnifabrication.
As always, P1Harmony pack their visuals with attitude, humour and aesthetic creativity, including a scene of the group dancing in the rain, before the video closes with the sextet dancing on the moon until the song’s final note zaps them away, leaving only their clothes floating in space. What has set P1Harmony’s heroes apart is that they stay cheerful, quirky and human even while saving the world, and on BLOW UP, they return to carry out their final mission in that same spirit. With the mission complete, P1Harmony now leave orbit for a greater world beyond, signaling the start of a new chapter for a group that has never set limits on itself.
The “BLOW UP” choreography translates the track’s rhythm and energy directly into movement, shifting speed and accents with the flow of the song. The opening blends the groove with detailed moves that trace each beat, while the chorus mirrors the song’s shifting velocity with choreography that makes the sextet appear to be racing across the sky. Additional moves spotlight each member’s individual character and expressions, capturing the free-spirited energy behind P1Harmony’s dynamic performances.
Including the title track lead single, BLOW UP features a total of six songs that span genres and stories: “element” pairs a distinctive flute line and witty voice effects with cheerful chanting and lyrics about confidence that is earned rather than boastful, “How To” revives the nostalgic sound of early-2010s R&B-pop on a dance track about finding the inner strength to move forward through hardship, “MOMENTUM” brings an Afro-house pulse with taut percussion, sensual vocals and lyrics about an instinctive pull between two people, “t.o.t.y.” is a lyrically focused pop ballad layering R&B-style harmonies over restrained avant-pop production discussing the in between space when one is "too old" and "too young" to act certain ways, while “Talk That” returns to the kitschy, experimental side of hyperpop with pitched-up vocals and a playful message about tuning out the noise to find one’s own pace.
As expected from P1Harmony albums, the members were heavily involved in the creative process: Intak and Jongseob co-wrote the lyrics for every song, including the title track, while Keeho co-wrote “element” and both co-wrote and co-composed “MOMENTUM.”
P1Harmony first teased their comeback during their headlining performance on the first day of the inaugural 82WORLD LA festival in Los Angeles, their first headlining slot at a U.S. festival following appearances at Governors Ball and KCON. Ahead of today’s release, the group performed “BLOW UP” and “MOMENTUM” live for the first time on November 4 at a fan showcase at Seoul’s Yonsei University, styled as a “HERO SOCIETY INFO SESSION” in which the members played senior heroes recruiting a new class of vigilantes.
BLOW UP arrives just eight months after UNIQUE, which debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 with 58,000 units in its first week, P1Harmony’s highest-charting album to date bringing the group’s total to six Billboard 200 entries. Most recently, its title track “UNIQUE” was named to Apple Music’s Best of 2026, earning a spot on the KPOPWRLD: Best of 2026 playlist. UNIQUE built on a breakthrough 2025 that included their 8th mini album ‘DUH!’ and first-ever English project EX (which debuted at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 with 40,000 units in its first week). Critics also named several P1H songs among the best K-pop tracks of 2025, including the title tracks “DUH!” (Billboard Brazil) and “EX” (TIDAL), as well as the B-sides “Pretty Boy” from ‘DUH!’ (The Hollywood Reporter, Stardust Magazine) and “Dancing Queen” off EX (AV Club).
