BTS opened the first of four performances at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on September 1, launching the final chapter of the North American leg of ‘BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG.’’ Already the highest-grossing tour of BTS' career, ‘BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’’ continues to redefine the group's global touring legacy as it heads toward Latin America next month.
The opening night drew around 70,000 fans, bringing total attendance across the North American leg to approximately 1.7 Million to date. Continuing on September 2, 5, and 6, the four-night SoFi Stadium finale concludes the group’s 31-show journey across 12 North American regions into its final chapter. Every stop on the North American leg has sold out, reaffirming BTS' enduring stadium appeal across the continent.
Since opening in Tampa in April, the North American leg of the tour has travelled through El Paso, Mexico City, Stanford, Las Vegas, East Rutherford, Foxborough, Baltimore, Arlington, Toronto, and Chicago before arriving in Los Angeles. Across every stop, the tour evolved into more than a series of concerts, becoming citywide celebrations that brought together longtime ARMY, new audiences, and local communities across generations and nationalities.
Throughout the tour, BTS surprised audiences each night with a different pair of songs from the group’s extensive discography, creating unique moments that rewarded longtime fans while making every stop distinct. Highlights included performances of “Magic Shop” in Tampa, “Spring Day” in Mexico City, “00:00 (Zero O’Clock)” and “Outro: Tear” in Toronto, and “Tomorrow” and “Hip Hop Phile” in Chicago.
BTS’ impact extended far beyond the stadiums throughout North America, as cities and local communities celebrated the group's arrival in distinctive ways. During the tour's opening weekend in Tampa, the city illuminated its bridges and Old City Hall in purple to welcome BTS and ARMY. The momentum continued in Mexico City, where local authorities estimated that tens of thousands of fans gathered outside the stadium across multiple nights, while an estimated crowd of more than 50,000 people welcomed BTS following the group's visit to the Presidential Palace. Ahead of the group’s Toronto concerts, the City of Toronto temporarily designated a section of Yonge Street as “BTS Boulevard” and proclaimed August 22 and 23 “BTS Weekend.” In Illinois, Governor JB Pritzker proclaimed August 27 and 28 “BTS Day in Illinois” in recognition of the group’s two sold-out performances at Soldier Field. Marking a fitting finale to the North American run, Los Angeles declared the first week of September “BTS Week” and illuminated City Hall in ARIRANG red to welcome BTS and ARMY. Together, these moments reflected the extraordinary reach of the tour, with cities across North America embracing BTS in ways that extended well beyond the concerts ㄹthemselves.
The concert experience expanded further through ‘BTS THE CITY ARIRANG,’ transforming Las Vegas and New York into immersive extensions of the tour. Building on previous editions of the citywide project, the two U.S. stops offered landmark activations, exhibitions, cultural collaborations, and interactive fan programs that invited visitors to experience the world of ARIRANG beyond the stage. In New York, programming across Grand Central Terminal, Rockefeller Center, the Korean Cultural Center New York, and other locations throughout Manhattan connected BTS’ music with the city’s cultural landscape while creating new spaces for fans to gather and explore together.
The North American finale arrives amid unprecedented global momentum for ‘BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’.’’ According to Billboard Boxscore, the tour had grossed $433.2 million and sold 2.3 million tickets across 38 shows through August 11, already surpassing the group’s previous highest-grossing tour, ‘BTS WORLD TOUR ‘LOVE YOURSELF.’’ BTS also became only the third artist in history, following Beyoncé and Bad Bunny to gross more than $100 million in multiple calendar months, further underscoring the tour's place among the biggest global live music events of the year. This momentum builds on the success of ARIRANG, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, while its lead single “SWIM” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
With three additional performances still to come at SoFi Stadium, BTS are set to wrap up the North American leg on a high note on September 6. The band will take ‘BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’’ to Latin America beginning next month, continuing its journey to audiences around the world.
