BTS DELIVER EPIC SET AT iHEARTRADIO MUSIC FESTIVAL SHOWCASING THEIR CONTINUED EVOLUTION

Returning to the festival stage after six years, BTS present a powerhouse set featuring “SWIM,” “2.0,” “MIC Drop” and “FYA,” showcasing their continued evolution and forward momentum

BTS delivered the closing performance of the opening night at the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Festival at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Friday, September 18. The group brought an epic set as part of a star-studded lineup that included Cardi B, Goo Goo Dolls, Kenny Chesney, Weezer and Zara Larsson.

The appearance marked BTS’ return to the iHeartRadio Music Festival stage after six years, bringing their latest music and expansive creative vision to one of the largest multi-genre festivals in the U.S. Throughout the set, BTS commanded the stage with their signature energy and unparalleled stage mastery, drawing roaring cheers from the packed crowd.

The four-song set featured “SWIM,” “2.0,” “MIC Drop,” and “FYA.” Anchored in the theme of “BTS 2.0,” the performance translated the group’s continued evolution into a single narrative of rising, breaking beyond familiar boundaries and pressing forward. Drawing inspiration from the industrial world of the “2.0” music video, each stage and transition formed part of one continuously expanding world, symbolising growth, liberation and progression. The overarching theme of “BTS 2.0” was not simply a new image, but a representation of BTS as they are today.

The performance opened with “SWIM,” transporting the audience into a dramatic industrial world as the camera passed through cracks in a massive concrete wall to reveal BTS standing before an enormous water tank. As the song intensified, rising water and increasingly turbulent waves filled the space, while blue and white lighting with frantic water visuals on the screen heightened the sense of being drawn deeper into the world unfolding around the group. The sequence began with a Steadicam shot following the members one by one before expanding to reveal all seven together, setting the stage for the journey ahead.

From “SWIM,” the production moved seamlessly into “2.0,” the pivotal point in the set’s visual journey. The camera appeared to rise one floor higher within the same expansive setting. As the track began, ceiling lights illuminated one by one to reveal a vast, seemingly endless warehouse. Expanding the industrial world of the “2.0” music video, the stage marked a shift from immersion to ascent. As BTS moved upward through the structure, each new level opened into an expanded environment, turning the physical act of ascending into a visual representation of growth and progression.

The journey shifted from upward to forward with “MIC Drop.” A sudden blackout at the end of “2.0” reopened to reveal BTS in silhouette, before the group surged forward through a tunnel and into a vast cosmic landscape. The visual world continued to expand as they travelled through stars, nebulae and galaxies into deeper space, transforming the upward movement of the earlier stages into a relentless forward drive. Rather than leading toward a single destination, the sequence placed the movement itself at the centre, reflecting BTS’ continued drive to move beyond the boundaries of the worlds they have already built.

BTS brought the journey to an explosive finale with “FYA.” Seven comets flew across the universe before one turned red and plunged toward Earth, crashing into a desert and opening the final world of the set. As the track intensified, flames spread across the desert until they engulfed the surrounding landscape, while the lighting shifted from fiery orange beams to stark white at the song’s breakdown. The striking finale transformed the momentum built throughout the set into a powerful release of energy, bringing the performance to its dramatic peak.

The appearance follows the conclusion of the North American leg of their ‘BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG,’ which sold out all 31 shows across 12 cities and drew approximately 1.92 million fans, including more than 282,000 attendees across four sold-out shows at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium.

With their return to the iHeartRadio Music Festival, BTS once again showcased their ability to bring together music, storytelling and striking visuals on a global stage, further underscoring their continued evolution and influence across music and culture.
