SURAN (수란) is set to make history as the first Korean artist to hold a solo fan concert in Ghana and West Africa. The singer-songwriter will headline the first “Jaese Presents” show in Ghana on December 20, 2025. The event is organised by Jaese Productions in collaboration with Native Hyve, the team behind Ghana’s acclaimed Eat Drink Music Festival. It will take place at the 1000-seater capacity auditorium, the Liberty Hall.
About Jaese Presents
Jaese Presents is a new live show franchise designed to spotlight music talents from South Korea, Japan, China, and Thailand in Africa. It aims to bring more K-pop and Asian artists to African stages in response to long-standing fan demand. The franchise will launch its first show in Ghana, with plans underway to expand to Nigeria, Uganda, Kenya, and Côte d’Ivoire.
Over the years, Jaese Productions has been instrumental in advancing K-pop representation across Sub-Saharan Africa. The company previously launched two dedicated radio shows: Pop Central on YFM in Ghana and The K-pop Hitlist in Nigeria. They expanded K-pop’s African media presence through interviews with artists such as P1Harmony, B.I, and Kep1er, among others. Jaese Productions also strengthened industry insight by sharing analytics, including Spotify’s 2022 Sub-Saharan Africa K-pop data and TurnTable Charts’ 2024 findings showing Korean artists made up 18% of albums charting in Nigeria.
KOREAN CREATIVES VISITING WEST AFRICA
While several Korean creatives have visited West Africa, SURAN’s show marks the first dedicated fan concert by a Korean artist in the region. Previous visits have mainly focused on charity and cultural exchange. Hyolyn and Soyou of SISTAR travelled to Liberia for humanitarian work. TVXQ’s Yunho joined a charity initiative in Ghana, and Kangnam also visited for cultural exchange.
In the Afrobeats scene, Korean artists Paradice and Silly Music have visited Nigeria for music collaborations. However, none have held a solo concert in West Africa until now.
The Ghana concert is expected to feature SURAN’s popular tracks along with interactive games and activities.

About SURAN
SURAN is a critically acclaimed South Korean singer-songwriter and producer, known for her soulful vocals, genre-blending musicality, and emotional depth. With a background in computer science and classical piano, SURAN transitioned into music full-time and first gained attention as part of the duo Lodia before launching her solo career in 2014.
She rose to mainstream fame with her chart-topping hit “If I Get Drunk Today (오늘 취하면)” featuring Changmo, produced by BTS’s SUGA in 2017. The track earned her multiple awards and solidified her place as a unique voice in Korea’s R&B scene. SURAN has also lent her voice to many popular Korean dramas such as Netflix's “The Glory,” “When The Phone Rings,” and “Strong Woman Dong Boo Soon.”
Beyond her solo releases, SURAN is a sought-after collaborator and has worked with some of Korea’s top artists and producers, including SUGA, ZICO, Dean, and Beenzino. She is known for blending soulful melodies with electronic, hip-hop, and pop elements, creating a signature sound that resonates with both mainstream and indie audiences.
In 2021, SURAN established her independent label, S-TASY, and began releasing her own music showing the music industry that it is possible to take control of your own artistry. SURAN aims to create and share music that brings listeners into her own world of fantasy, inspiring her listeners to find the same courage to explore and grow within their own unique journeys.
Keep up with SURAN
