Brazilian funk global star, Pedro Sampaio releases an official remix of globally renowned girl group KATSEYE's track, “HOOTIE FRUTTI.” The track is accompanied by a new dance video featuring Pedro’s iconic dance crew and was first unveiled live by the artist on the Palco Mundo Stage at Rock in Rio in September.
The collaboration marks a new milestone in Pedro’s international expansion, making him the first Brazilian artist to officially collaborate with KATSEYE, the global girl group made up of Daniela, Lara, Manon, Megan, Sophia, and Yoonchae. Adding a distinctly Brazilian touch to the track, Yoonchae delivers the now-iconic introduction, “Pe-dro Sam-pai-o, Vai!”, a phrase that has become synonymous with Pedro’s music and live performances. The remix also features MC GW, one of Pedro’s frequent musical collaborators, alongside Clementaum, who previously joined him on the hit “Sequência Cunt.”
“This remix represents so much of what I’ve been working toward in my career: taking Brazilian funk to more and more places and creating connections with artists from different scenes around the world. KATSEYE is a truly global group with such a strong identity, and it was really special to bring my vision to ‘HOOTIE FRUTTI’ and add even more elements of Brazilian funk to the track,” says Pedro Sampaio.
“HOOTIE FRUTTI” is featured on KATSEYE’s third EP, “WILD,” released in August. The original track debuted in Spotify’s Global Top 20 and incorporates Brazilian funk elements alongside Portuguese-language vocals. Its music video also embraces Brazilian culture through its visuals and features looks created by Brazilian designers.
The remix arrives at a defining moment in Pedro Sampaio’s international expansion. Fresh off a major performance at the NFL’s first-ever game in Rio de Janeiro at Maracanã Stadium, Pedro recently took the stage for the game’s halftime show alongside Latin music icon Ricky Martin. The performance also marked the debut of “pikito pikito” and featured choreography by internationally acclaimed New Zealand choreographer and creative director Parris Goebel, known for her work with artists including Beyoncé, Rihanna and Lady Gaga.
The party doesn’t stop at the NFL. Pedro’s Brazilian Chaos Tour will return to the U.S. with five new dates starting November 6th in LA before heading to San Diego, Houston, Chicago, and New York. With Brazilian funk at the center of his sound and culture at the heart of his creative vision, Pedro Sampaio continues to build bridges between Brazil and the global music scene.
