BTS successfully wrapped up the Mexico City leg of ‘BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’’ with three sold-out shows on May 7 and 9-10, drawing massive crowds across the city.

The sold-out three-night run transformed Mexico City into a festival-like atmosphere, drawing around 150,000 attendees. Local authorities estimated that tens of thousands of fans gathered outside the stadium across Days 2 and 3, prompting temporary road closures as crowds filled the surrounding streets.

Throughout the concerts, BTS delivered an immersive and high-energy setlist featuring tracks from their fifth studio album ARIRANG, including global hits “SWIM,” “2.0,” and “Hooligan,” alongside worldwide fan favourites such as “Dynamite,” “Butter,” and “IDOL.” The performances showcased the group’s musical journey, drawing thunderous responses from audiences across all three nights.

One of the most talked-about aspects of BTS’ Mexico City visit was the members’ heartfelt embrace of Mexican culture, which generated significant viral attention online. Aside from the members’ interactions with the audience in Spanish, BTS also performed “Aliens” alongside lines of dancers dressed in lucha libre masks. V also drew widespread attention for enjoying a traditional banderilla during his “IDOL” performance, delighting local fans and sparking countless viral posts online.

Beyond the stage, BTS’ experience of Mexican culture captured global attention. On May 9, Jin, SUGA, Jimin, and Jung Kook attended a lucha libre match at Arena México, the country’s legendary professional wrestling venue. Videos of the members enjoying the event from the front row as Mexican wrestler Místico entered the ring wearing a custom white jacket emblazoned with the BTS logo and the group’s name quickly circulated online.

Prior to the concerts, BTS accepted an official invitation from the Mexican presidential office and met with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum at the Presidential Palace in central Mexico City on May 7. Following the meeting, the members greeted the public from the palace balcony, where an estimated crowd of more than 50,000 people had gathered to welcome them.
