IN COLLABORATION WITH CALACOTE, 28X GRAMMY & LATIN GRAMMY WINNING PRODUCER, EDUARDO CABRA, & TONGA CONGA
Dominican singer-songwriter, actress, and Latin music’s newest powerhouse, Letón Pé, releases new single “Tengo Miedo” about female dominance in a relationship. Letón Pé is joined by an all-star crew consisting of Dominican artist Calacote, 28X Grammy and Latin Grammy winning producer Eduardo Cabra and producer Tonga Conga. “It’s a song that jolts you from every angle, from what it narrates about a woman who shocks others with her impropriety but doesn’t the slightest intention of diminishing herself, down to her making a dent in the musical arrangement. It’s a song made for my loud people, that gives life to those who need it, and it’s inspired by my Caribbean people who stir up the ambience wherever they go,” explains Letón Pé about the inspiration behind the track.
“Tengo Miedo” originated from a social experiment Cabra and Remezcla Studios did during Latin Grammy week 2022, which was a statement about how fast content is consumed in today’s world. The artists who participated paid $1 to record a song produced by him as long as they could record the song in 15 minutes. The original version of the song generated a ton of buzz leading them to reconnect and make an extended version, the only song from this project to have a full version with visuals. Later, Letón Pé and Calacote got together on the beach in their home country, Dominican Republic, to bring the dynamic mambo and risqué lyrics to life via visuals directed by Juanca Paulino. “Exploring native rhythms has been a constant aspiration of mine. I feel like as long as I do so from an honest perspective and bring forth the fluidity to have it intersect with what I've already been doing, it will be authentic. The strength of Calacote’s unique and bizarre performance along with the ingenuity of Eduardo Cabra and Tonga Conga on the production, were the ideal ingredients to cook up this electric mambo,” affirms Letón Pé.

The dynamic track reunited Letón Pé and Cabra, who is globally hailed as one of Latin music’s most innovative creative forces, being she was recently featured on his EP Martínez alongside other notable guests like De La Ghetto, Vicente Garcia, Elsa y Elmar, and Ambar Lucid, amongst others. Recently, she made her SXSW debut as an official artist at multiple showcases including KEXP x El Sonido’s Radio Day Stage. In the past couple of years, she has also performed at major global festivals like Isle of Light (Santo Domingo, DR) and La Mar de Músicas (Cartagena, SP). Earlier this year, she made it to Rolling Stone’s 10 Latin Acts Set to Make it Big in 2023, solidifying her status as Dominican Republic’s next big pop star.
