Letón Pé Releases New Single “Rojo Rubí (Rompiendo La Cadera)” + Announces Forthcoming EP

Dominican singer-songwriter, actress, and Latin music’s new powerhouse, Letón Pé, introduces her latest single “Rojo Rubí (Rompiendo La Cadera),” which is also the title of her forthcoming EP, Rojo Rubí, out this summer via Mishu Music. According to the songstress, this track led her to be daring with her music and take on a different approach to what she had previously been recording.
“Rojo Rubí” marks the first collaboration between Letón Pé and Latin Grammy Winning producer Julián Bernal (Sebastian Yatra, Elsa & Elmar). The experience of working with a new producer and challenging herself sonically led to what she describes as “a song that exhilarates and that like a spell invokes pleasure, subtlety and rudeness at the same time.” With the assistance of Bernal, Letón Pé was able to incorporate a blend of merengue with a reggae guitar and house inspired percussion to create her own electro tropical sound. Drawing inspiration from her native island and paying tribute to Los Hermanos Rosario’s timeless classic “La Dueña del Swing”, Letón Pé created her own fusion to produce a cosmic merengue. She accompanies the track with a hypnotic music video highlighting her dancing and mesmerizing sultriness to perfectly pair with the lyrics of “Rojo Rubí.”
Last night, Letón Pé captivated her fans and industry supporters with a stunning performance in Miami’s PAMM (Pérez Art Museum Miami). Up next, she will be performing in NYC’s SOBs on July 13th. Earlier this year, she made her SXSW debut as an official artist at multiple showcases including KEXP x El Sonido’s Radio Day Stage and made it to Rolling Stone’s 10 Latin Acts Set to Make it Big in 2023, solidifying her status as Dominican Republic’s next big pop star. This summer, Letón Pé, will release her EP, Rojo Rubí, a body of work that she made with the intention of using her sonorous language to honor her home country.
