DannyLux continues to challenge audience’s perception of Mexican music with his latest single, “Zafiro,” off his forthcoming album out this summer. The sierreño crooner teamed up with Pablo Hurtado, from 3X Grammy winning Mexican band – Camila – and producer Hector Crisantes (Kurt, El Fantasma) to create a genre—defying sierreño that incorporates an orchestra and rock guitar solo by Hurtado.

When describing the emotional song DannyLux states, “This song has so many emotions put into it, it talks about being in love with a person that truly did hurt you, and every time you look into their eyes it reminds you of that.”DannyLux embraces heartbreak and loss on “Zafiro” through poignant lyrics like “esos ojo zafiros brillan y mienten,” staying true to that sad boy essence which gained him a massive and loyal fanbase while setting him apart from his musical peers.

“Zafiro” arrives with a dynamic music video directed by longtime collaborator, Tevan, which showcases an emotional performance by DannyLux alongside a live orchestra. The visuals were shot at multiple locations across California featuring iconic spots like the Pacific Ocean and Pismo Beach sand dunes. The dramatic storytelling keeps the audience engaged through what feels like a short film.

2023 has already been the most pivotal year in DannyLux’s career. He’s reached several milestones including a performance at Coachella, a hometown glory story told through a billboard which went viral and the bestowal of the keys to his hometown, Desert Hot Springs, by the city’s mayor. Adding to his long list of accomplishments this year, DannyLux won a BMI Award for Most Performed Regional Mexican Song for “Jugaste y Sufri,” received a nomination for a Premio Lo Nuestro and a Latin AMA award, and was included, for the 2nd consecutive year, in Billboard’s 21 under 21 list. The singer-songwriter and musician is set to close out the year with a debut full-length album, his first headliner tour in Mexico, participation in major festivals and major collaborations.

19-year-old Mexican-American sensation DannyLux is one of the most relevant up-and-coming acts in the Regional Mexican scene. His musical references span decades thanks to the music that was playing at home, listening to bands like The Beatles, Richie Valens, and Pink Floyd with his dad and Regional Mexican and Mexican Rock with his mom. At the age of 15, DannyLux started writing his own music inspired by artists such as Ariel Camacho, and some of the artists in the corrido tumbado movement such as: Eslabón Armado, Junior H and Porte Diferente, creating his own sound: “Alternative-Sierreño”, redefining a genre to a new generation. The singer-songwriter kicked off 2023 announcing his debut at Coachella this April and received his first nomination from Univision’s Premio Lo Nuestro under the category Artista Revelación – Regional Mexicano. Last year DannyLux was nominated for a Billboard Latin Music Award nomination for his song “Jugaste y Sufrí” with Eslabón Armado, a Premios Juventud nomination in The New Generation of Regional Mexican category, nominations for Artist of the Year and Best Sierreño Song of the Year at Premios de la Radio in Mexico City, headlined Viva!
